In our search for solutions to today's demanding climatic, social, and economic conditions we have become increasingly mindful of the natural organization of the planet in bioregions, each of which is characterized by specific environmental and topographical systems. Throughout history, humans have adapted to these conditions in order to create habitable and appropriate structures, and this accumulated vernacular knowledge inherited from the past will be a valuable resource for the future.
